“HYDRA is small, simple and possesses many heads. It undergoes morphallaxis when injured or severed and it appears not to age or die.”
Anticipating a utopia in which infinite regeneration is possible, founder and creative director Anna Gloria Flores explores representations of immortality through the act of 'prototyping'.
Each 'Prototype' created is an evolution of the last, handmade by AGF from translucent natural latex rubber, a biodegradable plant-based material that visibly accumulates signs of ageing. The relationship between HYDRA and higher studio will continue as the 'Prototypes' gradually go through a process of modification, in the aim of infinite regeneration.
Our objective is to rethink the process of design, production and wear and tear of clothing for post-ownership. We consider how to prolong the longevity of products and how the ageing experience can generate rather than deplete value.
